Your questions answered...

How much do you charge?

The cost of booking Evening Star will depend on what size of band you have, the length of the engagement and the distance we have to travel. Please feel free to call us or email on eveningstarband@gmail.com for a detailed quote.

How much space do you need?

Again, this will depend on the line up you choose but a sensible minimum area is 10m x 6m (longest edge facing the audience) To see exactly how we set up and other information that you should know in advance click here

How long do you play for?

Unlike a cabaret or tribute band, we are flexible when it comes to the duration of the performance and how it dovetails with your event. Normally, the band will play three 45-minute sets with a gap of twenty minutes between each for costume changes and refreshment.

Do I need to provide any equipment?

No - the band carries all its own sound and light equipment with plenty of extension cables. We do, of course, need an electrical supply sited on or near the stage / performance area - preferably with four separately wired sockets. As most of our equipment is transistorised or low voltage 3-phase power is not normally required.

What do you wear?

The band will dress according to what is appropriate for the evening. More formal occasions will normally require black tie, and often we will start proceedings in smart attire until the party starts in earnest. At this point it's glamour and sparkle for the rest of the evening, with costume changes between each set. For this reason we request a secure changing facility with sufficient light and a mirror in close proximity to the performance area.

Do you need parking space?

Yes - normally for one MPV plus trailer and one other car. If you are booking the larger band formats (4 or 5 piece) please allow for an additional vehicle. Ideally parking should be arranged as close to the performance area as possible.

What about food and drinks?

The provision of a meal and drinks for each band member is a pre-requisite. Depending on the timing of our set-up and break down this can range from a light snack to a hot meal. This can be discussed as part of the performance contract once the band's availability has been confirmed.

Can I come and see you before I book?

Subject to client agreement, we are happy to make arrangements for you to see the band at a suitable function or venue prior to booking. However, this is not always possible and as the band is secured on a 'first come first served' basis early booking is recommended.
